cover
The cover of the book The Island of the Blue Dolphins is very welcoming. it shows calm colors and the girl looks relaxed and at home. i belive that the cover is a really good representation of the book's plot too. the girl is in love with her home (the island) and she will do anything to protect it, its her world. the dolphins in the cover show and represent thye wildlife and tropical flow of the island. so far the island is exactly how it is described in the book. i recoment checking it out for yourself!

setting
The setting of the book Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell is the island of the blue dolphins. the island is best described on page 16 (last paragraph)- pg 17 (first two paragraphs.) The island is told to be windy with many tropical trees and canyons. The setting is very important in the plot of this story. There are two tribes, the natives and an intruding party. The intruders want the island and are planning to take it away from the natives. This is obviously the starting of the plot in this story. The setting is also a mystery factor in the story. The island is constantly making obsticals for the intruders, making the story a little more interesting.

Fahrenheit 451
The most important paragraph from part 1 is pg 43 paragraph 2:
"That's all very well," cried Montag, "but what are they mad about? who are these people? Who's that man and who's that woman..." It is the most important because it shows the more humane side of Montag, and it shows how he is starting to question the society he lives in. this is like the turning point of the story. The turning point is extremely important, it gives the reader a since that something new and exiting will be happening. Also, this paragraph helps define the flaws of the society. Monag is beginning to question things, just like Clairese. i cant help but to wonder if the society has gotten a problem that is starting to spread throughout the population. If so, i predict a revolution. This paragraph helps provide a since of revolution, which is very important to this book.

entire final blog reflection (post 12)
I think that this blog post best
exemplifies my ability to analyze complex characters. I think that when I say:
"The author is clearly trying to touch the reader and seal an emotional
bond to the character David" that I am showing a description of how the
author describes himself in the character, (mainly because he is the
character.) this meets the expectations of the rubric by showing my
understanding of the connection between the author’s feelings and the
character's feelings
Choice 1: The goals I have for
myself for next trimester for reading are: to continue with the series of a
child called it and to start a new series of fiction books. I also plan on
reading a fault in our stars as Michelle had suggested I do. The goals I have
for writing: to keep writing short poems that link to the books I’m reading, to
help me better understand them. My areas of improvement of both my reading and
writing would be linking them together, that is why it is in my goal to get
better at that, and to continue practicing.
Choice 2: One thing I struggled
through this was finding a link between my reading and writing. I overcame this
by practicing and working more efficient. A strength I had to my blogging was
my high interest level of the things I was reading. A post that best shows this
strength would be:
2nd pharagraph (11th post) part 2

4th post
I strongly recommend that you read the book A Child Called It. The book was very touching and inspirational, it shows a lot of emotional connections with faith in God, and hope in humanity. Please read this book, it is truly amazing!
3rd post
I'm unfortunately about finished with my book A Child Called It. Its been a really good book! though depressing at times, it can show lots of touching expressions of excitement, happiness, loneliness, and faithfulness. I'm exited for the rest of the books to follow this one.

2nd blog post
So far my book A Child Called It has been showing a very
human and touching side. The author is clearly trying to touch the reader and
seal an emotional bond to the character David. It’s working, very well. The
passion put into the word of the story shows how much he felt when experiencing
this for himself. If you’re planning on writing a book, I urge you to make a
bond to the character; it gives the best writing, as so well demonstrated by Mr.
Dave Pelzer.
first blog post
For my book, A Child Called It I can predict that he will go
on to live happily and in a safer environment than the one he was living in
before. I still question how he will escape all the years of his abuse,
emotionally. I also wonder why he let it get this far. I can relate to how scared
he was and how everything that was happening to a breaking point. This also
shows how the world can be scary and how it can bring someone to madness, but
that there is light at the end of the tunnel somewhere. When I’m reading the
story, it brings me back to a newspaper i have read before about another child
abuse happening somewhere.
