setting

The setting of the book Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell is the island of the blue dolphins. the island is best described on page 16 (last paragraph)- pg 17 (first two paragraphs.) The island is told to be windy with many tropical trees and canyons. The setting is very important in the plot of this story. There are two tribes, the natives and an intruding party. The intruders want the island and are planning to take it away from the natives. This is obviously the starting of the plot in this story. The setting is also a mystery factor in the story. The island is constantly making obsticals for the intruders, making the story a little more interesting.

  2. I'm pretty intrested in it, the reason I'm intrested in it is because I like the setting and I think the setting will have a huge impact on the story.

  4. Sounds like an interesting novel. It reminds me of the American discovery, when the Native Americans are invaded by the Europeans.
