Final Blogging Assessment – English 1B

My best post: Tragedy The following blog post will be baced on Tragedy.

1.    What specific words/phrases demonstrate your writer’s voice? How do these words/phrases showcase your personality as a writer?

·         Sporadically
·         personal connection
·         bloom
They show the readers that there is someone behind the screen. The readers are able to understand how I communicate just by finding those words in the responses. It gives them the feeling that there is something more than just empty words, which is a reflection of my personality and voice.

2.  What purposeful diction AND syntax choices did you make to enhance your writer’s voice? You must choose to discuss at least one diction AND one syntax technique from the list below. Make sure to include textual evidence from your post where you included the diction and syntax choices you discuss.

Diction: Elevated/formal
“She talks about spring and the beauty of it, how the flowers bloom and the wildlife is newly born”
I use a formal way of talking so that any age of audience can understand what I’m conveying. But the diction is also more elevated so that It can sound more regal and professional on a touching level.
Syntax: Word Order/Sentence Structure
“Have you ever been to a place this special to you? It could be a city spot, or even far out in the middle of nowhere.”
I use words that can help the readers connect and adjust to any situation that comes to them in the post. When someone comes to my blog, I want them to understand anything I may throw at them… so I ask those questions that they can understand and answer on more of a personal level. This creates a very strong sentence structure, held together by emotion

Good-bye

this is my final blog post regarding the book Island of the Blue Dolphins. the book has been so great, and somehow insirational. you wouldnt guess it from the cover, but the emotional backround from th plot of this book is extrodanary! i havent seen so much emotion poured into paper for such a long time. the ending was of corse like any other: happy. but for some reason i still feel a longing toerwards the somehow unsatisfing ending. one one naote everyone is happy and exited for their new ways of life, but you can still see that string pulling them torward a depressing side of dissapointment in the change. any way... i say bon-voyage to a great 5 star book, and i am prepairing for a new story to get my reading back in motion... any suggestions?

almost done!

my boook is almost complete! im sorry that i will have to say good bye to the characters i have grown to love.have you read the book yet? comment your favorite character and why you like them the best. my favorite character would be Ramo. He is the brother of the main character. Hes my favorite because he reminds me so much of my own brother. my Brother is the most important person to me, i wouldnt trade anything in the world for him. hes my best friend and the most awesome person! And Ramo reminds me so much of him, naturally he would be my favorite character.

flashback

Flashbaack in the book to pages 83-105. if you are planning to read to the end of the book, these pages are highly important. be sure to keep the clues in mind as you continue on in the story. Challenge: go get the book and read up to these pages... with out looking ahead comment some things you might think are important. later posts will prove you wrong or right.

response

If you were on my page last week, i asked what everyone's ecape place is. I had some very interesting responces! Thanks everyone who had commented and shared! This week, in my reading, it had been very suspenceful... Im afrid to tell anything because it might give away the ending. All i CAN say is that the island isnt all that it appears to be... And to answer your question about where MY escape place is... If you have ever been on an empty stage with no one in the audience? Just you and your thoughts, and the smooth hard wood floor under your bare feet.

Tragedy

"Now my hopes were dead. Now i was really alone" (pg 66-67)
She is upset because winter has taken away all the beauty of her island. You can really feel her passion and emotion, when reading pages 66 and 67, about her love for the Island of the Blue Dolphins. She talks about spring and the beauty of it, how the flowers bloom and the wildlife is newly born. Have you ever been to a place this special to you? It could be a city spot, or even far out in the middle of nowhere. Comment a place you know and love. Make a personal connection with the girl and her island! Here is a picture of my "escape place" its a hint for a later on blog post...

Thanks for checking in this week! I will see you again soon, hopefully not sporadically!
